Accessibility
We strive to make NOLA Disability Pride Fest and all our events sustainably accessible and comfortable for everyone. If were are not currently meeting your needs please contact our Accessibility Coordinator at JRheaV@outlook.com
The event space for NOLA Disability Pride Festival at The Advocacy Center is compliant with Universal Design, and all buildings and bathrooms are accessible. NOLA Disability Pride Fest will have certified ASL Interpreters at our welcome table, as well as for our performance schedule. We provide a quiet Sensory Break Space for anyone who needs to take a moment away from noise or people. We also provide ear plugs, hand sanitizer, name tags, and "no camera" pins. Parking is throughout the neighborhood, and there is a drop off area near the welcome table.
NOLA Disability Pride Fest requests that all participants refrain from using strong scented body products, and not to use or post any photo where you see people wearing "no camera" pins in the background. We urge you to ask before hugging or touching people, even if you know them well.
Please keep in mind that our community includes people with accessibility or communication needs that might be different from your own. Please keep the hours from 11AM-1PM quiet for those who may become overwhelmed or have trouble following multiple conversations at once. Please keep in mind that our community includes people who do not like to, or are unable to speak. If someone asks you to read a question or comment on their behalf, please assist, or pass the note on. If you are unsure about how to honor someone's access needs or get your own met, please ask one of our volunteer organizers for assistance.
Help us make NOLA Disability Pride Festival safe, comfortable, and accessible for our community.
Our Sponsors
New Orleans Disability Pride Fest would not be possible without the support of our donors and sponsors. We are thankful for every donation, large and small, and take the time close to the fest day to highlight our sponsors.
